My Big Vacation!!

I am back from a summer getaway with mommy and Tony. Boy did we have fun! We left Saturday July 22nd in the early morning but that just meant I got a sprinkle donut on the way out of town. We drove straight through to Sudbury without stopping and then had McDonald's for lunch (my favorite!). We got into the Soo so early that grandma and grandpa were still at camp. So we visited with Papa for awhile and then grandpa got home and he made me his best ribs for dinner. Sunday morning was more visiting with Papa and then off to camp. We were there until Wednesday. What fun!! We tried to get to Ojidaki on the four wheelers but both Monday and Wednesday (when we had planned to go) turned out to be rainy days so we didn't get there. But I still had a ton of fun. I learned to drive the red four wheeler all by myself! My feet can just touch the pegs on both sides. I was going so fast down the road that grandpa had to put on his running shoes and jog to keep up with me. One time I went a little out of control and almost crashed into mommy and then ran over grandma's flower barrel...whoops! I'm a crazy driver!

What else happened at camp...we went swimming in the waves and in the calm water. I went on grandpa's big four wheeler for a couple of rides to the sand dunes with mommy and Tony and grandpa. We went for some walks and picked some raspberries...they sure were yummy. I turned grandpa's garage into my clubhouse...then I had to clean it up and fix the roof and make it perfect. Grandpa and I also had to build a bridge for my remote control four wheeler. We built it right over grandma's flowers. The bridge was a bit weak in the middle so I had to put in a sign that said "No Grownups". That was fun!

On Wednesday we headed into town to visit some more with papa and then go to great grandma and grandpa Dukes' for supper. There were a lot of people there but I had the most fun playing with Brandon. He's only one year older then me and he had the coolest Hot Wheels transport truck. I had a yummy sandwich for dinner and then Skor ice cream cake for dessert...yum!

Oh and on that day we had to go buy Emma some new goldfish. Papa was taking care of them while Emma was gone on holidays and they died. So I picked her two new ones and got another big goldfish for Papa's tank. I hope they live for a long time.

Thursday we were back in the car to drive out to Sowerby to visit with Auntie Jodie. She's renting a cottage out there. Boy did I have fun. We went kayaking!! I went with Auntie Jodie for a ride and then with mommy. While I was with Auntie Jodie I just kept trying to spray mommy all the time...it was fun. We went swimming there too and I played a lot with Lucy and Caesar. Caesar is my favorite...Lucy is just so silly. We took the dogs for a walk in the bush and they were so excited running by me that they knocked me right over. Silly dogs!

Friday morning we had to say goodbye to Papa. That is after I raided his box of treats and took almost everything! Then we were back on the road but this time following grandma and grandpa. We kept in touch with the walkie talkies. At the first bridge the mean lady took all of my apples and little oranges...boy I was mad at her! Then we stopped at a rest stop and I got to see the coolest army tow truck. We stopped for lunch at Big Boy and then did some shopping at Birch Run. I got some new shorts, bathing suit and a new cool dude shirt. Finally we got to London. After crossing three bridges!! We got our hotel room and then went to eat dinner at the donkey Swiss Chalet (Jack Astor's).

Saturday morning we had to be up bright and early and I got to see Auntie Kim and Uncle Mike. We all had breakfast at the hotel and then we were on the road to visit Thomas the Tank Engine. It was the BEST morning ever!! I got to see a bunch of model trains, play with a bunch of Thomas sets and the best part...go for a ride in the train pulled by THOMAS!! I was pretty excited!

In the afternoon we tried to go to Wally World but I wasn't old enough or tall enough to do anything so instead we went to Storybook Gardens. We all had so much fun there! We spent hours just wandering around visiting the animals, going in the splash park and playing on the play structures. We were going to ride the merry go round and the train on the way out but then they saw lightening and had to evacuate the park. Bummer!

For supper we went to Montana's. Boy that was yummy! The man got mommy to wear these funny antlers and took her picture...even though it wasn't really her birthday yet. Silly!

I was spoiled too and Auntie Kim brought me a few new books and cool Cars clothes! A pair of pj's and the coolest jersey with Lightening McQueen! I want to wear it forever.

Yesterday morning was sad...we had to say goodbye to grandma and grandpa. Boy I sure wished they lived closer. But we met up with Auntie Kim and Uncle Mike along the highway and we all went to African Lion Safari for the afternoon. Another very cool place!! We saw the elephant swim and then drove though. The animals were all pretty sleepy until we got to the part with the baboons. Boy they were nuts!! We put some of Papa's nuts and bolts on the roof and they were all over the car. They were so silly! Some of them brought their bananas up and sat on the trunk of Auntie Kim's car to eat them. Then they left bits of peel and footprints all over the car. They liked to sit on the side mirrors too...they were just soooooooo silly!! After the drive I went on a pony ride...fun! Then we walked down and I went on an elephant ride with Uncle Mike. That was so neat! We got to ride the mommy elephant and the little baby was following right beside us. So cool! Then we watched the elephant show. Those elephants are pretty smart...they were playing soccer, painting and even sleeping. What a great day!

Then it was time to head home...with another stop at McDonald's on the way we finally got in late last night. Whew...what a great vacation!!

That's my big update for today. Today we are just getting unpacked...we went to the library so I got hand in my reading club list and to the grocery store and now we're just hanging out. I need to relax after my big holiday.

Day out

I had such a great sleep last night! Finally it cooled down a bit in here and I slept from shortly after 7pm until 6:30 this morning...and then stayed and cuddled in bed with mommy for another half an hour or so. Whew...I needed that good sleep!

This morning we went out. We left early to get over to the Children's Museum but there must have been some mixup with the busses because boy did we ever wait a long time at Hurdman for the 8. Sheesh! But then we finally got there. I played and played and played some more...for 3 HOURS!! It was great!! Then we got a hamburger and fries and went to sit by the the river. What a great outing!

Tonight I wanted to go to the beach but both Mooney's Bay and Petrie Island are closed...so I guess that won't happen. I think we're going to Tony's house for dinner instead.

Swimming

Today we can enjoy the nice summer weather. It's only in the 30s and not the 40s so actually nice to be out in the sun. This morning I was up very, very early because it was hot in here. Just about 5:30am...nuts! So I had lots of time to hang out and play before we went out.

We didn't go too far again today. I took my bike for a ride around Loblaws. Then right after lunch we headed over to the wading pool by the french school (Hawthorne Park). We had so much fun!! I brought my pool noodle and they had a bunch of balls in the pool. I even tried swimming without my pool noodle and I ended up swimming under water but I did go a few metres. Yahoo!! It was very nice! We had a little picnic snack and played at the play structure too. I think we're going to go back again tomorrow afternoon.

I'm feeling hot, hot, hot!!

I got home from my long vacation with daddy last night. Mommy sure was happy to see me. I brought home some fruit and some leftover birthday cake from Jordan's party. We just sat and chatted for a long, long time and then shared the cake before we started to play. I checked out Goldie and my flowers and the seeds we planted a very long time ago...guess what? They're flowering!! And the flowers are orange...my favorite colour!! Wow!!

By the time I was ready for bed it was way after 9pm and it was so hot. I crawled in with mommy and laid right in front of the fan and that helped me to sleep a bit. Tonight will be even hotter. Can you believe it's 30C with a humidex of 40 and it's not even noon yet?? That is crazy! I think we should be on vacation this week.

I slept in till 7:30 this morning and then mommy and me just had a relaxing morning playing and eating and I ran around in my underwear. Then we went out on my bike to bring my reading club sheets in to the library and then we stopped to buy me new sandals. They're black and pretty snazzy! My other ones broke at some point over the week with daddy.

This afternoon I have a checkup with Dr Gravelle and then I'm going to hang out with Tony for an hour while mommy is at the dentist. We'll probably get some ice cream...it's too hot!

Going away

Later tonight I start my week long vacation with daddy so I figured we'd post once more before I went away. Mommy says she sure is going to miss me for a whole week but I'm going to have tons of fun.

This morning I was up bright and early (yet again). Shortly after 7am we had a surprise visitor...Tony stopped by before going to work and brought me a sprinkle donut...yum!! He stayed until we left to bike to playgroup. We played and listened and danced to Great Big Sea. Playgroup was even better this week. There wasn't as many kids and they had some different toys out. It went by really fast.

This afternoon we're going back to the library and then later tonight we're going strawberry picking with Tony, his mom and his mom's friend. It's going to be a yummy adventure! Then they're going to drive me out to Rockland to daddy's house to start my vacation with him. That's all for now.

Babysitting

We had a fun night babysitting Clark. Daddy and Sylvie dropped him off around 5pm so first we gave Clark his dinner. I even fed him his dessert. I'm such a good helper! Then we gave him a cookie and headed over to Elmvale. I don't know if Clark has ever been to the library before but we went there. He picked a really cool dump truck board book and I got a book that was on hold for us. I sure had fun showing Clark where I like to go. Then we went to Loblaws to pick up a few groceries and then had to rush back home to beat the rain. We got drizzled on a little bit but it felt nice. When we got home we played and played and played some more. While I had a bath we just put Clark back in his stroller but he got mad that he wasn't in the tub with me. I can't blame him. Then it was time for stories and bed. What a fun night!

When I woke up this morning Clark had gone home and their were dried apple slices waiting in the dehydrator for my breakfast. Yummy!! This morning we've just been playing. We took a walk over to Loeb and stopped to play at the park on the way. We bought so many groceries that I had to walk all the way home. At least we have lots of snacks now. This afternoon we're going to go to the park by mommy's work but I don't think it will be hot enough to go in the wading pool...we'll have to see. Hopefully it doesn't rain.

Children's Museum

My first full week of vacation...yahoo!! Since it was the Canada Day weekend I got to stay with daddy one extra day. So I came home yesterday afternoon when mommy got off of work. We had a relaxing night building forts, playing and doing a bit of tracing work. I really didn't want to go to bed but I gave in and slept like a log until 6am this morning when we were up and going.

We went over to the Children's Museum! My second day in a row there since I was there with Clark and daddy yesterday. But today wasn't near as busy. We played for a long time inside, then stopped for a donut, then spent hours outside. I learned how to play an African marble game and won against mommy and we played snakes and ladders, I built a boat and just played and played and played. Then we went and got a hot dog and some water for a picnic. Finally it was time to come home. We have to go back there again soon. We were there for over 3 hours today!

That's all for now. We were going to go to the wading pool for a bit but there's another severe thunderstorm watch in affect and it looks a little cloudy. But tonight Clark is coming over for a few hours. I can't wait!
