Summer is over

We are in the last weekend of summer already. Where did the summer go?? I am counting down the days to go back to school. At first I wasn't so thrilled but now I am getting pretty excited. Back to school and see all my friends again. We went school shopping yesterday for all the supplies...my backpack is bursting!! I think mom is going to have to carry it in for me the first day. It's heavy!! I think this year my teacher is going to be Ms Beaupre. I know she's nice because she was my reading teacher last year.

The summer went by so fast it didn't seem like we did a lot...but I guess we did. We had our big vacation up to Sault Ste Marie in early July. We borrowed Shannon and Nat's mini van and that got us there so much better. I had a blast playing with Emma at camp. And Grandpa and Papa too. And we finally got to meet Auntie Jodie's baby...I think her name is Kate. I had my 4 wheeler race against Papa's tractor and this time I won. But I think I should've been disqualified since I ran right into Papa. Silly me! I sure love the four wheeler. It's sweet!

We used our pool quite a bit in July but then it got really rainy and cool and we haven't used it much in the past few weeks. We tried to go swimming yesterday and it was soooo cold!! Even colder then on Wednesday when we swam in the St Lawrence River. Brrr!!

We had some adventures in the past few weeks too. Lelita (Tony's sister) and Chico were visiting from Portugal so we had a lot of fun with them. We toured the Royal Canadian Mint, and the market downtown, we did some shopping with them and had a lot of dinners with them. One day we went to the Civilisations Museum and Lyz and me played in the Children's Museum. They even have a Bob the Builder exhibit. That was so cool! Then this past Wednesday I went on a day trip up to Upper Canada Village with Julia, Tony, mommy, Lyz, Dee, Lelita and Chico. We had a blast! We got to learn a lot of stuff at the village because it wasn't too busy. Do you know they use dried bugs to add the red colour in Fruitopia?? Gross!! We saw lots and lots of horses too and they were really friendly. This time we even got a boat ride in the boat pulled by the horse. Neato! Finally we took the little train ride over to Crysler Beach and had a HUGE picnic with the family. We went swimming too and it really wasn't that cold. I also collected a ton of rocks...Julia is a good rock collector too. She's crazy...she was feeding the birds and actually picked up a seagull...gross!

We must have done more things this summer too but I can't remember.

Oh and the biggest news of the summer is that "Tank" is on the way!! Mommy is pregnant!! I found out sometime in July and at first I didn't even believe it but then boy oh boy did I ever get excited. I started to tell everyone I saw. I decided to call the baby "Tank" if it's a boy and "Tanker" if it's a girl. I think they're good names. I'm anxious to start setting up the baby's room. I talk to Tank all the time and give mommy's belly kisses. I actually saw the baby on tv a few weeks ago. We went for the ultrasound and it was so cool. You could see his big head and body and little legs and arms. It looked like an alien to me. Pretty amazing that that is in mommy's belly. I think soon we'll be able to hear the heartbeat...now that will be cool.

Happy Canada Day

I am having a great summer vacation so far! It has been very relaxing. Mommy and me are both enjoying being off and spending the days playing. We've been in the pool every day. It's getting warmer but we still haven't got it to stop leaking. Next year I think we'll need a new pool. Bummer. We spend lots of time just playing outside too.

This week we had our BIG Canada Day BASH!! What a party!! I was so excited to be here this year for it. It started early in the afternoon. Lots and lots of people came over. We had fun in the pool (lots of people got thrown in) and just playing in the backyard. I ate a lot of food...so much that I had to take a rest on the grass...my belly hurt so much. Then we had a big bonfire, loud music and fireworks. The fireworks were the best we've had yet. What a party!! I roasted marshmallows for everyone and ate s'mores (but mine had no marshmallows on them...I like to roast them but only eat them raw). Tucker and me were both pretty tired after the party. What a day! Oh and one of the funniest parts of the party was that I hid Rob's shoes...then he slept over and got up early in the morning with Tony and he couldn't find his shoes. So he drove home barefoot. He didn't even want to borrow another pair. Silly eh? I hid them good! Jodi was here with her little puppy Chewy. I want him! He's a king charles spaniel and really tiny. Tucker didn't even care about him...he didn't even think he was a dog. I tried to trade her Tucker but she didn't want him back.

This weekend we're going for our vacation out of town. We're leaving Saturday for Sault Ste Marie and coming back on Thursday. We haven't got a bigger vehicle yet so Tucker and I will have to share the backseat. It could be bad... I'm excited to see everyone again in the Soo. I miss them!

But before we leave to go there tomorrow night is the demolitian derby in Casselman. Hope it's sunny so we can go.

Finished Grade One!!

Another school year is over and guess what?! I passed!! Grade Two here I come!! But not too soon...I want a vacation from school. I worked hard this year and I'm tired. Yesterday was the last day of school. We just spent all day playing, eating sweets and being crazy. I got my report card and you would never believe it...3 A's!!! Am I awesome or what?! Another A in reading, art and one in science. I love science!! I'm always telling mommy and Tony about how the world works. It's pretty interesting.

Now that school is out I'm ready to relax and play all summer long. Except I'm still going to read a lot this summer and I'm going to keep a journal just so I don't forget some things.

We've got the pool all filled and up now. It's great!! We had some really hot days at the beginning of June so one of those days we started filling the pool. Then Mason and his friend came over and we all splashed and slid in the pool. So much fun! Then we swam in the pool all week long! Since then it hasn't been too warm but today we're going in swimming again. Unfortunately we've had a leak in the top tube...so we had to take the solar blanket off so it's a bit cooler (70F). Oh well...hopefully we can find a way to fix the leak soon. I'm so excited to swim and play with Ollie again...he was so flat all winter. :)

My last soccer game of the season was last week. We won against the black team (Mason's and Madelaine's team). I was so happy!! I even played goalie for awhile. Afterwards we had a celebration with freezies and we got a soccer ball to bring home. So cool! I'm going to miss playing soccer. But now I play ball hockey. Last night was my first game. I was on the yellow team. I still need to get some hockey gloves and a face mask but I had a great time. I was sweating so much my head was dripping water. Whew...hard work! But I got an assist!! We play the real rules of hockey so it's hard to remember but I'll get them down soon enough.

Hmm...not much else is new. Last week we went on our end of year field trip to the Nature Museum. Mommy came to help out. In our group was me, John, Connor, Dallys and Shailynne. We were a bit of a handful but it was fun. We were gone all day!

Spring Fun

As you can see I'm losing teeth again!! This picture was taken when only one front top one was gone but last night the other one fell out. So now I really do have the hockey smile. Mommy will have to take a picture of that smile.

We haven't updated this in a very long time. We've been having lots of fun now that spring has arrived. I started playing soccer in Embrun on Thursday nights. My team is hunter green and I got a real soccer jersey. It's so cool!! I had a hard time with the drills at first since our coach was speaking mostly French but now it's better because she speaks more English. I LOVE playing in the game and am even getting in there in the action now. Usually after soccer we go out for our weekly treat to either Tim Horton's or Dairy Queen. It's a pretty great night. Last week Shannon, Nat and Gaby came to watch. That was pretty neat to show off for them.

Also in May I got a new cousin!! Kate was born on May 3rd. I was sure Auntie Jodie was having a boy and sent all my boy clothes but nope...it's a girl. We had to go shopping to get her some more clothes. Poor Kate was wearing my boy clothes. We can't wait to go to the Soo to see her.

I turned 7 in May too. Can you beleive it?! 7 already!! I had soccer on the day of my birthday but then we had my big birthday party the next day. And it was a PD Day so I didn't have school. My party was CRAZY fun!! I had 8 of my friends come over and we made pizzas, played games, broke a crazy lizard pinata, had cake and ice cream, opened presents and had sparklers and glow bracelets. It was nutso!! Mommy made a construction cake just like I wanted. Then for Mother's Day there was some left over so I brought it to mommy in bed for breakfast. Silly me! My birthday gift was a new bike. It's so cool!! I went to pick it out at Toys R Us. It's a Tonka one. Hopefully soon we'll get the training wheels off and I'll feel confident riding without them but right now I still want them on. I'm scared I'm going to fall.

This past month I also went to Ivan's birthday party. If I thought my party was crazy his was even crazier. Like the whole school was there! This weekend is Simon's party. It's nice to have friends around here now.

Last week I was pretty sick. I got some sort of bug in my tummy and I had a whole lots of poop. Yuck! Then I shared it with mommy and Tony and they shared it with everyone they knew. Nice of me isn't it?? But we're all better now.

I'm pretty excited for school to be out. I haven't been keeping up with my homework...it's so hard in the nice weather to sit inside and work on homework. I have to do a bunch tonight to catch up. I start ball hockey in a few weeks too. Soccer ends at the end of June and then I have ball hockey from June through to August. We're playing in the hockey arena. It's going to be so cool!

I have to go take care of Tucker...he is crazy.

Awesome report card!!

Once again it's been a whole month since the last post. Daddy isn't updating at all anymore...silly daddy.

I have some great news! Yesterday we got our report cards and I did AWESOME!! Guess what?? I got TWO A's!! Can you believe it?? I'm so smart! I got an A- in reading (I read level 16 now...I really like to read) and an A- in Visual Arts. I love to draw and create. The rest of my marks were good too...lots of B's and 2 C's in French. But that will get easier too. My work in the classroom has gotten worse though. I don't have the intiative or work ethic anymore. Now that the work is getting easier I'm getting bored and just want to day dream about other things. And my crazy pet "Bananas" comes to school with me and distracts me all the time. He's just a popsicle stick but boy he causes a lot of trouble. He packs 100 bananas for lunch and eats them all day long. He makes such a mess!

What else is new in the past month. We finally got to go skating on the rink at the end of our street. It was only open for a couple of weeks and we only went twice. Next year we need to start on it a little earlier. We shovelled it and flooded it a few times but no one else was taking care of it. Kind of a bummer. And now we have way to much snow to work on it anymore. Mrs Pepin showed me how much snow we got 375cm so far...that's crazy!! It would bury the school and all the houses. Good thing we didn't get it all at once. We spent a lot of time shovelling outside and playing in the snow. This past week I had TWO snow days!! And it's storming again today. What a winter!! I wanted to ride my bike to the mailbox the other day but mommy said she can't even get to the shed never mind me biking on the street. We'll have to post pictures of our big snowbanks...they're taller then mommy and Tony.

We also celebrated Valentine's Day and I got a Webkinz. His name is Cowdog. I'm addicted!! I want to play Webkinz on the computer ALL the time. It's so much fun. Then the other day I got another one (a dalmation) and some army pants for Cowdog. Too cool!! I even got Aunt Kim hooked on it and she plays too. For Valentine's dinner we went to Shannon and Nat's to celebrate with them and Shannon's mom and Gaby. It was fun. I gave out Valentine's at school and got a lot from my friends but I ate too much candy that day and my tummy hurt.

Just after Valentine's Aunt Kim and Uncle Mike came up for the Family Day long weekend. We spent Saturday hanging out at home and playing in the snow. We went to the cheese factory and McDonald's and then had a BBQ for dinner. I was so happy to have visitors for the weekend. Aunt Kim calls our house the "zoo". I think it's about right. Tucker is an animal and he belongs in a zoo!! I was spoiled once again with treats for Valentine's, a bear and even Christmas gifts from Uncle Mike. I got a keyboard and the Racing Stripes movie. I'm so lucky!! On Sunday we went down to Winterlude to the ice slides but it wasn't so great. I didn't want to go and I was so grumpy the whole time we were there. It was way to busy to do anything...the lineups were too long. So Uncle Mike and I went on the sleigh ride and then I built my own fort out of the snow sculpture blocks and that was it. Pretty disappointing. On Monday our company went home and we went into Ottawa to take Tuck for a run at the dog park. He loves playing with other dogs. And we went to Tony's mom's for a late lunch. We hadn't seen her in a long time. Lots of fun!

I guess that's all that's new. This week is March Break so after my weekend with daddy I get to spend 7 days at home with mommy. Yahoo!!

Oh and I got 5/5 on my spelling test again yesterday!! Woohoo!

A real post

Finally a real post from the land of Carter!!

I haven't really posted anything since before Christmas and that was so long ago I don't even remember. We've been having lots of fun since then. The holidays went by too fast. I spent Christmas here with mommy and Tony and boy did we have fun. We went to Julia's house for a big dinner, and had Christmas dinner here at home. It was fun! Santa brought me LOTS of stuff and the rest of the family spoiled me too. I am so lucky! Thank you!! Santa left me a GPS but their must have been a mixup because he only left me the empty box. Can you believe it?? Auntie Carrie thinks Santa needed it to find his way home but I think the elves played a trick and kept it for themselves to go geocaching. Either way we went to those nice people at Canadian Tire and they filled the box. Thank goodness! But then we couldn't get that geocache to work properly so we brought it back and I finally got one that works and a few days after Christmas we found our first geocache with it. Right in our neighbourhood! It was pretty awesome!! We've gone out twice since then to find more caches but I think it's harder in the winter because we didn't find either one. We'll have to try again once some of this snow has melted...because did you know we have a TON of snow!! Anyhow back to Christmas...we had everyone here for Christmas dinner and then had a fireworks show in the backyard. It was so much fun! Dom was setting them off and he was making us laugh. He thought he was going to blow up. It was funny!

Hmm...what else is new. A few weeks ago my class went on the first field trip. We went to the NAC to see a production of How the Guamquat Found Her Voice. It was really neat! Mommy came along to volunteer so we had a great morning together.

Then a few weeks ago we decided to take a little vacation. We got up early on a Saturday and dropped Tucker off at the kennel and then went towards Sainte Sauveur. We went tubing for the day at Glissades! http://www.glissades.ca It was sooooo much fun!! We all had our own tubes and could pick them ourselves so we could get fast ones. Then they have his conveyer belt that runs up the mountain so you don't have to wait in any lines to get up to the top. That was so cool! We went down everytime hanging onto each other...Tony went so fast!! We got snow in our faces but it was great. We even did a bunch of the expert runs. We did one HUGE expert run and it was such a thrill I almost peed my pants. So much fun! We rented a hotel in Laval for the night and it had a pool but the heater was broke. We tried to swim anyways but it was way to cold. Oh well. We had breakfast there in the morning and then drove into Montreal. We got a bit lost but finally found the big car show. Wow...lots of people and lots of NICE cars. I liked the race cars. So that was a really fun weekend.

But when we got back Tucker got a little stressed sleeping at the kennel and he was really sick. We had to take him to the vet...he was pooping everywhere and all the time. We got him special pills and food and he's all better now. He's as crazy as ever!!

And the snow...we have a lot!! We had a lot before Christmas but then on Friday we had another big snow storm!! Last week I had a snow day on Wednesday and then a PD Day on Friday. Can't beat that! I still help shovel sometimes but I'm kind of sick of the snow. And usually when I try and shovel Tucker comes and steals my shovel...he thinks he can do a better job.

We had so much snow on Friday that I didn't go to daddy's. I just spent the weekend with Mommy instead. We just stayed home on Friday and Saturday but then on Sunday we went into town. First we went to Isabel's house in Kanata to finally bring her and Julia their Christmas gifts. We had a fun time visiting and playing together. Then we stopped at IKEA to get a shelf. And then went down to the canal to go skating. Turns out Tuck wasn't allowed on the ice so instead Tony walked on the path along the canal and mommy and I skated. I'm doing good on my skates I just need to learn to go forward now. The best part was stopping for Beaver Tails and hot chocolate. Yum!! After that it was late so we had to hurry to Julia's house for dinner. I played with Lyz and ate and then it was home to bed.
