Long time no post

Wow it's been a long time since I updated my blog. I've been having tons of fun with mommy and just haven't had time. Good news is I'm long over my cold. Now what have I been up to?? Hmm...

We went to a bunch of library programs in the past few weeks on heros. One was even on firemen and I got to make my own firehat and a firetruck puzzle. They also had the closing party where I saw Finn and Amanda and ate tons of snacks and even won a cool dump truck as a prize. We've gone to the Children's Museum a whole bunch of times. Tons of fun there. I think we've gone once a week. We also stay for like 3 hours and just play and play some more. Yesterday when we went they even had some dancers putting on a show. That was cool! I liked the boy dancer because he had cool moves but I told mommy she was a better dancer then the girl.

We enjoyed our days at the wading pool but now they are closed and the weather is colder. Last week we went to Canterbury one night swimming and that was a lot of fun! I swam by myself in the BIG pool!! No noodle, life jacket or anything...for about 2 metres. Woohoo! I'm all signed up for swimming lessons again starting in 2 weeks. This time I'm going to pass my level!

Last week we had a super fun outing in the afternoon in went to SuperEx with Tony! Holy Moly what FUN!! They had animals to pet (even a camel) and I got to ride a horse bareback. It was so cool! I want to take riding lessons. Then we went to the rides. I rode on EVERYTHING! I went on this super fast twirly fire truck ride that would have made mommy sick. But it was alright for me. I was a bit dizzy getting off but no big deal. We all went on the big ferris wheel, I rode the bus, all the airplanes, cars, boats and went in the fun house....until I got stuck in the spinning tunnel at the end. Silly! I played the duck game and won a cute little puppy. Just a great afternoon!

Hmm...what else. On Sunday we took a day trip. Mommy and Tony picked me up at the trailer and then we went to Smiths Falls. We had to stop for a sprinkle donut first (priorities) and then we got to the train museum. It was so much fun! Even though it was a bit rainy. They had a bunch of model train vendors there and even a big display set up. We went on a skidder and a speeder right and we rode in the tractor they had made to look like a train. But it sounded like a tractor. Silly! We also saw this passenger car that was 110 years old that they were restoring. And one vendor showed me a whole bunch of army model train cars and a bunch of cool engines. What fun! Then we went to Hershey. It was a madhouse in there. But I got my favorite treats...Reese's Pieces, Hershey Kisses and peanut butter cups. Yummy! Oh and some chocolate covered raisins.

That's all for an update for today. Mommy took a picture of me with the flowers that I grew so we'll put that up. These are the seeds that I planted in the spring. Nice eh??

Sick house

Aren't you glad you don't live with us? We are sick. I am still coughing all the time...my nose is so runny and I keep telling mommy that my body aches. Mommy has it too and we were both tossing and turning all night long. Yuck.

So today is going to be quiet. We did some laundry this morning and I took my bike over to Weston Park for about an hour. To get some fresh air and we played in the sand and the play structures...stopped at Loblaws on the way home and now we're home for the afternoon.

Hopefully by the time I get back from my weekend with daddy this cold is gone. Maybe I can pass it off to someone there...I'm sick of it.

Busy Day

Despite not feeling our best we still went out and had a very busy day. I'm pooped. Especially after staying up till the middle of the night to watch the fireworks. I was still up this morning by 6:30 and ready to go. We stayed around home playing and getting our work done and then it was off with Tony for the day.

First we went to the Children's Museum. It was fun! We got to play outside before the rain started. They opened the boat building hut again but now we only get to make a boat out of a cut pool noodle...no nails or hammers or caps...bummer. It still floated well though. The inside part was very busy but I did a great job doing some bricklaying, working on the ship and painting. We toured the rest of the museum too. Then it was off to Dairy Queen for lunch. Shhh...don't tell but I had a dipped cone for my lunch. Yum! From there we went to South Keys and mommy spent her Chapters gift card on me (well part of it) and I got a new firetruck book. Then we went to Scholar's Choice and spent our gift card from there on two Thomas books. That is such a cool store!

Now we're home and it's going to be a quiet night. Relax and get to bed early.

More swimming

It's been a bit cooler the past couple of days. So today we hung around home playing until around 11 when we headed over to Hawthorne park to go swimming again. We played in the park for awhile and I swam without any noodle or anything for about half an hour. Then mommy and me both started coughing away so it was time to get out. Darn colds.

After lunch we went over to the library for a program on Family Heros. We listened to a bunch of stories and then I got to make a craft. A cool doorknob hanger made out of foam. I decorated it with Dash and Jack from the Incredibles and some glitter glue. It's pretty cool.

Tonight is the night I get to stay up really late to watch the fireworks from our balcony. I am so excited!! It's going to be the middle of the night.

Summer cold

When I saw mommy this morning I had a cold. It started sometime over the weekend. Yuck! Mommy is getting it today too...but I don't know where we got it from. We've had a good day anyway. This morning was quiet and just playing and relaxing until the library opened. I worked on some of my tracing and pronouncing my "st" sounds and both are improving. We're going to move onto other activities with the "st" sounds because I've mastered the flash cards. Yahoo! Something new.

Then we were off to the library. I have the most stickers on my reading club lightening bolt. I'm doing such a great job! I picked out a bunch of new books and some new movies and we hung out at the library for a bit reading. We haven't done that in awhile. Then after lunch we headed down to the big summer party at Alda Burt park. It's the one near McDonald's. It was so much fun! They had a dj playing really cool music, I played in the sand, on the play structure, we went swimming and the biggest news...I swam all by myself the whole time! I was throwing myself backwards in the water and just being very brave! I'm going to ace my swimming lessons this year. They had a dunk tank there too so I tried a couple of times but I didn't hit the button. But the other kids did...it was so funny to watch! Then I entered the dance contest and was shaking my bum bum away for 2 whole songs and then got very mad when I didn't win a prize. All the big kids just crowded around for them. I had a huge temper tantrum and went storming out of the park. I have to learn to be a better loser. But we still had a great afternoon. And I got McDonald cookies to bring home...yum!

That's all for now. Mom says if I'm a good boy then she will let me pick a prize from the dollar store for being brave enough to dance for all that time in front of all those people. But next time no temper tantrums.

Long weekend

Pretty soon I leave for my long weekend with daddy. I hope we go to the trailer. I miss daddy since I haven't seen him in two whole weeks...that's a long time. But I have had a great vacation with my mom.

Today was another good day. It cooled down a bit to sleep but I still crawled into mommy's bed where the extra fan is. This morning I went biking over to the library and to Loblaws and since Tony was going for break we went to Starbucks with him and sat outside. Then we came home and built a big fort over the ship I had made earlier to eat our lunch under. That was fun! Then we were off to the wading pool for the afternoon. We played in the park some too. I pretended it was Turkey Hill Park (like on Arthur) and I had to be on the lookup for lions, tigers and bears...oh my! And I collected a whole sand pail full of treasures. In the pool I same all by myself. No noodle, floaty or lifejacket...I sunk a bit but I was doing such a good job!

Now I'm off to daddy's.

Still hot!

Once again we are baking in our apartment. It's 38C with the humidex today. Yuck...at least not as bad as yesterday but boy is our apartment hot! I slept with mommy last night in just my underwear with the fan blowing full speed on us and it was still hot. How miserable! But after tossing and turning all night I did manage to sleep in till 7:30 so that was nice.

Then we got up and ready and off we went to the Science and Tech Museum! We hadn't been there in over a month...so long that our membership had expired. Whoops! It wasn't busy at all...since we were there right at 9 so I had the run of the place until we got to the tunnels and then the big day camp kids were there and they were running and pushing and being rude. But the rest of the museum sure was fun! Then we went outside and boarded the train. All aboard!! We got to see in the top part of the caboose car where the brakeman would sit. Was that ever cool!! On the way home we stopped at McDonald's for sundaes (I like mine with no topping) since we didn't have ice cream last night. They sure were yummy!
