Christmas assembly

Just wanted to post about another awesome day at school on Friday! Thursday night daddy dropped me off at mommy's work just before the store closed. So I didn't really get to help much but I did get a couple of cookies. So I got to bed very late that night.

Friday morning mommy let me sleep in a bit and then we had to rush out the door to school. We walked over with the wagon and the gifts for Ms Dudar and Vicky and the snowman cookies for my class. I had the BEST morning at school!! Mommy read stories and then we headed down to the assembly. We had a sing along with the other primary grades. One of the teachers was playing guitar and his computer was playing the drums. It was so much fun! Then all the classes performed. My class did the Reindeer Pokey but I was a bit shy and didn't do all of the actions but I did sing the whole time. Even the teachers did a skit about the Night Before Christmas Break. It was pretty funny. Oh and it was pajama day (my favorite!) but Ms Dudar didn't tell my class so no one in my class wore their pj's. Ms Dudar says she will have one for us in January. I've been waiting to wear my pj's to school all year! Then it was back to the class for some playtime and I shared the snowman cookies. Ms Dudar gave us all a big box of Smarties and a Christmas pencil with an eraser. And she really liked her gift from me! I got her a fridge magnet with the photo mommy took of the class at Halloween time and a tin of cookies that we baked. Then school was over. It went by so fast! We stopped to give Vicky her gift and then rushed home because I got to open my gifts from mommy!! I had already opened two of them earlier in the week (a Lightening McQueen towel for swimming lessons and Lightening McQueen sheets) and then on Friday I opened 3 more (glow in the dark race car pj's, 2 books and a fireman dvd with a little firetruck). I was pretty excited!!

Then we went to check the mail and we had another package from Julie out in BC! She sent us the Pirates of the Carribean dvd, Ice Age: The Meltdown dvd and the cutest grey Timberwolf stuffed animal that I call Timby. He's cute!!

Lot's of Christmas fun!

Concert day

Only 4 days until Christmas!! I am getting so excited! And only 1 more school day left. WOW!

I'm having a good week. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were all pretty quiet days. Except we did turn our kitchen into a cookie factory and made 5 batches of cookies, 1 gingerbread cake and cupcakes. That's a lot of sweets! And I'm a little cookie monster...my favorite are the white cookies and the cupcakes. We watched lots of Christmas movies (a couple Bearenstein Bears ones and Thomas' Christmas) and read so many Christmas books. I think we read at least 20. I love to read and listen to stories.

Since we had spent so much time at home yesterday we headed out after school and went to the Aviation Museum to see all the airplanes. We hadn't been there in such a long time. It was pretty empty so I had a blast running around and playing and some people that work there actually told me all about one of the first canadian built float planes that sunk. That was pretty cool! Last night Tony came over to have dinner with us and I was crazy and bouncing off the walls. Singing and dancing and I even got Tony to give me horsey rides up and down the hall. I'm nuts!

I've been working hard at school all week too. Yesterday I brought home some really nice crafts for Christmas. Some tree really nice tree ornaments, pictures I drew and some reindeer crafts and a candle. Mommy said they are the best gifts ever! Then this morning was the big excitement of the week. My kindgarten Christmas concert. WOW! Mommy and Tony came to the school for 9 and my class and the JK class performed. I did GREAT! I was doing the actions and singing and looked so cute in my reindeer hat. Afterwards we all went back to my class to pig out on all the sweets (and my cupcakes) and played. Mommy and Tony got to stay until the end of class and saw me be the special helper. So much fun!

That's all for now. Tonight I'm going to the Winter Solctice celebrations at the Science and Tech Museum with daddy and then tomorrow morning is the primary assembly at my school so I get to perform again for mommy (and maybe Tony too). So exciting!! Oh and the picture is of me and my good buddy Brandon having snacks.

My Weekend

What a fun weekend I've had.

Thursday night was my Christmas party at Beavers. That sure was fun! I got to go by myself to beavers because Sylvie was late coming home from work. It was cool though, I still got to play with all my friends!

Friday night when we got home, Daddy and Clark and I went in the basement to build a big fort. It was pretty big. Daddy and Me and Sylvie and Clark played in it alot. I told Daddy that I wanted to sleep down there, and he let me. That was really neat. What a cool camp out. I slept down there all by myself until I was awoke by Happy Feet early the next morning. We call Clark Happy Feet because he dances like the penguin in the movie.

We had a fun time playing all day Saturday. We played and played. Jordan and I even went to the park to play for a while. We didn't too much much else for the weekend except play and play and play some more.

This thursday night we will get to go to winter solstice at the museum and it's only a few more sleeps until Christmas!!

Alight at Night

This week has held more Christmas fun! The big day is less then two weeks away now. I'm getting excited!! But our snow is all gone...can you believe it?! There's green grass everywhere and I haven't even had to wear my snowpants this week. Crazy!

Sunday night we spent relaxing and playing. Mommy had to get me out of my slump of being blah and lazy so she put on some music and I started dancing and hopping and going nuts! Tony came over to play and have dinner with us. And guess what mommy cooked...purple potatoes! They were even purple inside. Weird eh?

Yesterday was back to school. I brought Ms Dudar the book we had bought for the class at the book fair. Maybe she will read it today. We got to go to the library and we had reading buddies come into the class. My reading buddy read a book about a big girl kangaroo who was sad that she didn't fit into her mommies pouch anymore so she ran away. But it had a happy ending. Then I got to take Vicky's bus home. That was fun!

I got my school pictures yesterday too so when I got home we got all the Christmas cards ready to mail. Boy there was a lot of them. I got sick and tired of writing my name after only one. And we read my library book...it's about a puppy and a pathwork quilt. It's good! Oh and I got a surprise in the mail. Uncle Jerry sent me a Christmas present so I got to open it and it's what I've wanted for awhile. It's a helicopter on a control pad with levers to control it. It flies around super fast backward or forward...so cool! Thanks! Oh and I finally wrote my letter to Santa. I told him he'd have to leave a treasure hunt for the gifts at mommy's house since under our tree is already full. I told him I'd leave him Christmas milk and cookies and that I would like him to bring me a remote control dump truck, a remote control monster truck that can crush cars and a track for my thomas trains. Hopefully it doesn't take long to get to the North Pole!

Then last night we met Tony and his mom, Julia, and went for a bit adventure out to Upper Canada Village for their Alight at Night festivities. It was so cool!! I went last year with daddy but mommy and Tony and Julia had never gone before. All the lights on the houses made everything look like chalk drawings and since we went on a Monday we had the entire place practically to ourselves!! We got our very private horse drawn wagon ride and I got to drive the horses. I got to pet them a lot first and learn all about them and then I climbed up and controlled the reins for our entire ride. So cool! I did a good job! After our ride we figured out where we wanted to walk back to so we walked around the village and checked out the bakery and then went and had a big turkey dinner at the barn. Yummy!! I just wanted turkey and bun. It was so warm I didn't even need to wear my snowpants. Then we had our own private train ride. The train sure was flying along. My favorite part was the tunnel. Then we bought some fresh bread from the bakery (it was still warm...yum) and I got to pick out two treasure rocks to bring home. They're so pretty. It was a great night at the village and I can't wait to go back!

This morning I was a little grumpy since it was such a late night. I wanted mommy to come to school to volunteer and didn't want to go to school without her but mommy said she had other things to do and would come another day. Bummer. But today I wore my Peru t-shirt that Auntie Jodie and Uncle Paul sent me from their trip and I brought my shark tooth and bamboo music maker to school so hopefully I'll be able to show and tell them to my class. This afternoon we're going out again...to Cosmic!! Yahoo!

More Christmas fun

This week has just been filled with lots of Christmas fun! Yesterday we had another great day. I took the bus home from school since it was a little chilly out. Then when I got home we made our Gingerbread Train!! Isn't it cool?! I did such a good job and we even had candies leftover to eat. And an extra piece of gingerbread...yummy! It's much more exciting then just a plain house. Then in the afternoon we walked over to Giant Tiger to pick up a few more gifts. One for Tony's mom and a photo album for Jaclyn. I found a neat squishy light up thing (it's hard to describe) for only 99 cents so I got to buy that too.

Last night Tony came over for dinner (spring rolls and rice...yum) and then we were off to the party! The big Christmas party at the Civilisations Museum. We all had soooooooo much fun!! There were lots of people there but it wasn't too crazy. I think going there on a Saturday is busier. We got to make our own candles out of candle wax paper and then we rolled them in glitter. They look so nice I don't think I want to burn them. I played for a long time in the children's museum too. So much fun!! Then we stopped for the best snack ever. They had apple juice, cake, sandwich wraps and cookies. So much food we couldn't eat it all and brought the rest home. They had all the tables decorated really fancy like too. So I got to stay up really late.

This morning mommy had to wake me up to get ready for school and my bus was actually on time. It's been coming like 15 minutes late every day but not today. I had a supply teacher today at school named Mrs Perkins. She's very nice. I made a sorting craft and just had fun. Mommy was there to pick me up at my classroom when school was done because we had our interview with Ms Dudar. I am doing GREAT at school!! I can count up to 38, know all my colours, how to write my full name, I know almost all the shapes except I get confused on rectangles and ovals. I also can recognise lots of letters now and know most of the sounds they make. I have lots of friends at school and really enjoy reading. And I can get ready to go home on my own. So I'm doing good! Mommy got to see some super cute pictures I have drawn of myself but they have to stay at school until the end of the year. I am so smart!

This afternoon we had more Christmas fun and went to a workshop at the Ontario Early Years Centre. Today we got to paint two tree ornaments, make two salt dough ornaments (that need to dry for a few days) and we got to cut out sugar cookies to bring home to bake. I made a craft tree too. Great fun! Those workshops are the best!! So when we got home we baked the cookies and then decided to make more cookies so we made gingerbread ones with sprinkles on them. Boy are they yummy!

That's all for now. Tomorrow will be another busy day. Mommy is coming to pick me up at school early so that we can go to the book fair and then I have a doctor's appointment. I hope I don't get any needles.

Christmas decorating

What a fun couple of days I've had! Sunday afternoon was Jordan and Adrian's birthday party at Cosmic Adventures. So daddy dropped me off there and I had a blast! Alex came to the party too and one of Adrian's friends and lots of family. I was sweating like crazy running through all those tunnels. And we got to eat hot dogs and cake. Yummy! Jordan and Adrian really liked their gifts too. Mommy and Tony came to pick me up when we were back playing games. I won over 140 tickets. Wow!! So I got to pick a whole bunch of prizes...a little jeep, 3 glow in the dark lizards, a spinning top plus all the stuff I got in my loot bag. How cool! I convinced Tony to come in the tunnels with me so we stayed at Cosmic until they closed at 5. Then it was off to Tony's house for dinner. I got to play PS2 race car game with Liz. I'm sure getting good and even won a few races. Then I had french fries and pork for dinner and portuguese bun. Those buns are the best. What a fun day and night!

Yesterday we had more fun. I didn't want to wear my snowpants to school but luckily I was wearing some sort of splash pants so I could still play in the snow. I learned my lesson though and it's much more fun in snowpants. I'll wear them from now on. We got to play outside at school and go to the library where I picked out another Magic School bus book. And I was the leader of the day so I got to lead circle and bring the attendance to the office with Abrar. Fun! Mommy ended up walking over to pick me up and we stopped at the library on the way home. I got the funniest book about an ant on a railroad track. It's really silly! When we got home we started to do all the housework and then started decorating for Christmas. We got out of Santa hats and put on the Christmas music. Boy was it fun!! Don't I look cute in my Santa hat?? It took us hours and hours. We had to stop halfway and go over to the mall to get suction cups for the windows to hang out light ornaments on our bedroom windows and we got some more wrapping paper to finish wrapping the gifts. Then when we got home we set up the tree. It looks so nice!! I did a GREAT job!! And the presents fill the entire bottom of the tree. There's even some for me under there. I think one is a book and the other one is clothes. I wish I could open them now.

We spent so much time decorating that we didn't have time to make the Gingerbread Train so we'll have to do that today. Tonight is the Christmas Party at the Civilisations Museum too and Tony is coming. It's going to be fun!

It's winter

It must be winter because today I didn't have to go to school! First day of the year that the school buses have been cancelled...due to freezing rain. You can't even call it a snow day. How silly! So we played around home this morning and made some very yummy trail mix stuff with white chocolate, smarties, cereal, pretzels...yummy! Some of my very favorite things. Then we went to play outside. First time wearing my new snowpants and they sure keep me warm. We built the BEST snowman! That's him in the picture. He's a little bit leafy but he's pretty nice. We put in pinecones for eyes and a nose and a twig for hair but it's hard to see in the picture. It was pretty yucky outside with the freezing rain blowing in our faces but we got our snowman built, I shovelled a bit and then we came back in.

Oh and today...the first big snowfall....I got a new bike!! I'm all set to go for spring. It's so cool!! It's white with blue, orange and red flames. It really does look like a hot wheels bike. And the brakes are on the handle bars. So cool!! And I got a whole new wardrobe of clothes...some really great stuff from Old Navy and Children's Place. Now I'm all set for the new year.
