Sick

I am having a bit of a rough week. It started off great on Sunday night though. Daddy dropped me off, Tony came over and we went down to the canal. Tony just walked but mommy and I both skated. I was doing so great! My first time out on the canal this year and mommy forgot her camera. We skated all the way from Hartwell Locks (I think) to the Beavertail stand. It was pretty darn far but I was having so much fun. We stopped for a snack and then headed back. We were out for a good 1.5 hours on the canal. So much fun!

The rest of the week I have been sick. I got this cold over a week ago and Monday it just got worse. I was feeling pretty burnt out. But Monday was a PD Day and we had the home inspection. So we went out for breakfast first and I had sprinkle pancakes and little sausages...yummy! And I got an orange balloon from Perkins. Then it was off to the new house. We stayed for a few hours. I was playing and exploring. It's so nice there...I can't wait to move in. Then we had to go the real estate office and by that time I was pretty tuckered so I curled up on my jacket and had a good long nap. I was snoring away. When I woke up I was feeling better so on the way home we stopped to visit with the animals at the Experimental Farm since it was so warm out. We saw some really cute baby calves. And lots of piglets that were pretty stinky.

I had a really rough night Monday night. I woke up around 10pm with really red feet and hands and the redness was spreading over my body. I was just so hot. I had to take some medicine and slept off and on all night. Yesterday I stayed home from school and mommy took me to the doctor...I just have a bad cold but a little bit of bronchitis too...so we have to keep an eye on it. But I don't need any other medicine yet so that is good news.

Today we found out that the house is definately ours!! We're moving soon! YAHOO!! I'm home from school again today. But I'm starting to go a little stir crazy. Hopefully my cold is better by tomorrow so I can go back to school.

The picture at the top is a present I made for mommy this morning. I closed my bedroom door and kept it all a secret so I could surprise her. She was so happy!

Bought a Backyard!!

I have big news! I bought myself a backyard!! I figure it's worth 100 bucks. That's a lot of money you know! Here is a picture of our new house!! We went to see it for the first time this past Sunday and I loved it! We've looked at a bunch of houses and I was getting tired at looking at them but this house...boy I like it! We went back there right after school today to check out the "poop system" and it was a bit stinky but kind of cool. One more inspection on Monday and then we get to move in at the end of April! I want to have a big party on my birthday in my backyard! I've talked to grandpa about coming and building me a play structure. I told him I'd pay him 18 pennies. And Papa has agreed to chip in that much too so I should get something pretty cool. I'll be staying at Vincent Massey until summer and then the new school is just down the street so I will start grade 1 there. I'm really sad about leaving my friends at Vincent Massey but I'm sure I'll meet new friends over the summer.

What else is new...I finished another session of swimming lessons this past Tuesday. Once again I am STILL in level B. I think I will be there forever! But I get closer and closer to passing each time. I can now jump into the pool all by myself and even in the really deep end and I can do a backfloat all by myself. I just need more work on doing 5 bobs and holding my face under the water for 5 seconds. I really don't like water around my eyes. So I start the next session next week.

Last week was Valentine's Day too. I was so excited! I gave my friends at school Cars Valentine's and even sent one to Papa. Mommy and Tony drove me to school that day since I got to bring chocolate cupcakes with pink icing for my class. They were yummy!! And boy did I ever get a lot of Valentine's! Brandon gave me FOUR!

I'm still doing Occupational Therapy at school with Ainsley. I'm really getting better at writing my name but need to write it frontwards instead of backwards. And I'm working on writing my letters all the same size.

Winterlude is over. I only got to go to the ice slides twice. Once with mommy and once with daddy. It was just way to cold last week to go anymore.

Yesterday afternoon mommy and I went to the Children's Museum. We hadn't been there in quite a long time. They have a bunch of new areas and we had so much fun!! We spent two hours there and never left the kids part. We'll have to go back again soon. It was a blast!!

This morning we had our primary assembly at school. It was spirit day and my class had to wear blue. We sang the months of the year song. I did a great job singing! Tony and mommy drove me to school and stayed for the assembly and then they came back to pick me up when school was over so we could go to the new house.

Winterlude Fun!

It's been another long time since we've posted an update. It is definately winter time in Ottawa now. Not that much snow but boy is it cold.

Last week I only went to school 2 days. No I haven't been sick. On Monday it was -40 and we were waiting and waiting and waiting for my school bus. We waited until we were frozen and then decided it wasn't coming. So mommy called the school and nope...no school bus on my route today. Wish we knew that before we got cold waiting! So I got to miss school!! But it was so cold that we didn't really go anywhere.

We did go for dinner at Tony's twice last week though...Sunday and Monday night so I got to play lots of PS2 and Tony finally got enough points to buy a monster truck on the four wheeler game. It's so cool!! We went to look at a couple more houses too but no plans of moving yet.

On Tuesday was swimming but it was so cold that I thought we would have to miss it. But then Tony offered us a ride. Yahoo! It was Parents Day too! So I got a private lesson with my instructor and mommy. I'm pretty lucky!! I made mommy get some exercise and I raced her all the way to the end of the pool. I'm doing better and better each week and can now do a back float all by myself!! I'm so awesome!! I still don't like sticking my head under the water though...I think I have to practice more in the bathtub.

On Wednesday I got to miss school again because I had to go for my Echocardiogram. Once again Tony gave us a ride because it was pretty cold out there. I was pretty nervous about getting the test done...well most of all about the stickers. But the technician was really nice and she only put on 3 stickers. And I was so brave!! Not one pout, cry, tear, nadda!! I'm awesome!! I just watched Thomas and watched my heart and then it was over. Whew!! Hopefully we're done those for a few years now. I got to buy a new Tonka book at the gift shop on the way out because I was so brave...and some Smarties.

Thursday was back to school but only for one day because Friday was a PD Day! It was pretty cold (AGAIN!) so we didn't go out anywhere. Just stayed home all day playing and then went to daddy's for the weekend.

But now the best news of all. Last night daddy dropped me off and Tony, mommy and I went to Jacques Cartier park to Winterlude!! We had such a blast and stayed until the park closed. So much fun!! It was a bit chilly but not too bad. We kept racing down the ice slides. We went down the big ones a couple of times but then just raced down the little ones. I won almost everytime but a few times Tony and me tied but mommy was always last. We walked around and saw the sights and then stopped for a Beavertail. Check out the Beavertail we got in the picture. It is the BIGGEST Beavertail EVER!! We were the 8 000 customer of the day so I got to eat that HUGE Beavertail. Everyone cheered for us. I was a bit shy but boy was it cool!!! We all shared that big one. I really didn't want to leave Winterlude though...the ice slides are so cool. We'll have to go back again this week before it's over.

Beaverlude 2007

Boy did I ever have fun on the weekend at Daddy's house! Saturday was BEAVERLUDE! I was so excited all week to go and have Beaverlude. We got up pretty early on Saturday morning and headed off to set up at the hall and outside. Clark and I ran all around the hall, and we helped Daddy and Sylvie set up tables and other stuff. I helped Daddy set up the target toss outside.

Once it actually started, Daddy and Clark went home and I got to stay and play. We did Ice Bowling, Target Toss, Tobogganing, Sling Shot, Sleigh Ride and a couple of really cool crafts. We actually went for a sleigh ride on the streets around Cumberland. It was really cool. The ice bowling was 2L pop bottles and windshield washer jugs for bowling balls, we threw them as hard as we could. When I went for lunch, I was so hungry that I ate 2 whole hot dogs and a bag of chips. After lunch we went back outside to play more. While we were tobogganing, Daddy and Clark came back. We got to all ride down on my toboggan together. Sylvie and I went down a few times together too.

We made some really neat crafts too when we were inside too. We had the option to make a mobile with snow men and stuff on it, but I decided I'd rather make a fishing pole instead. I also made a snow man fridge magnet. I think I still have my fridge magnet, but I lost my fishing pole.

We had so much fun all day that I wanted to do it again the next day. Instead we had a pretty quiet day Sunday. We played most of the morning and then when Clark went for his nap, Daddy and I got to play Simpsons Life. It was so much fun. I totally kicked Daddy's butt! After our game, it was off to Costco. We got some cool stuff and then had to run to drop me off at Mommy's so we could go to Tony's for dinner.

I guess that's all for now. I hope I get to go to Winterlude next weekend. I sure love the ice slides! And the BEAVERTAILS!

What a weekend!

Hey everybody!

I've had quite a weekend with Daddy and everybody at his house.

Friday night was pretty quiet. We relaxed and I got to play with Jordan for a while. Saturday was fun too. I got to play at home for quite a long time. We played inside because it was so cold outside. Later in the afternoon, it was time to start packing up for my first beaver sleep over. Sylvie and I headed off after dinner. We went skating and watched Ant Bully and played lots of games. I was up until 11 o'clock! That's pretty late. I also got to sleep in my Bob the Builder bed which was really fun. I always like sleeping in there. We woke up bright and early at 7 o'clock this morning and I was in a pretty good mood until it was time to go home. I think I lost one of my Hot Wheel mitts too. Bummer. I was pretty tired and grumpy all day at Daddy's. He tried to get me to take a nap, but there was nothing doing. I wasn't having anything to do with that. I'm absolutely convinced that we're not allowed to sleep during the day. Daddy thinks I'm cuckoo. Instead of making a bunch of noise and waking everybody up, Daddy decided we should just get going instead. We headed out for Giant Tiger to get a birthday present for Alex's party. When we got to Giant Tiger, Daddy had no wallet, so we had to go all the way home, get the wallet and then go back to Giant Tiger. I hope Alex likes the car race track that we got him. I really like playing with mine sometimes. After that, we went to MEC. We looked at stuff for me and Clark but Daddy decided not to buy anything. He says he has no money. Then we went to look at a boat store, but it was closed. Daddy says they have the bean bag mount for his GPS there. I guess he's going to need that, because the thing he has fell off the window today. D'oh! After that, we headed for the Dollar Store to get a gift bag and card for Alex's gift and then Daddy dropped me off at the bowling alley for the party. It was rock'n'bowl day. Daddy was a little uncomfortable leaving me there, but I was fine.

That was basically my weekend. Have a good week.

Winter

Wow there haven't been any posts lately! Guess it's about time to add one. The big news is that we finally have winter!! It arrived Monday morning (after a completely green weekend) with a ton of snow and boy it's been cold this week. So I've been taking the bus to and from school all week. It's too cold to walk. We've spent a bunch of time just playing at home this week. I'm addicted to my Tonka games on the computer. I would play them all day and all night if I could. I'm getting really good at using the computer too. I like the PBS website and TVO websites too.

School has been good this week. I got a new library book on Monday and have been doing lots of crafts. One day I even brought home a grocery list that I wrote all my myself. WOW! I've been working at home too and am learning to put my letter sounds together and read short words. It's a bit tough but it's so cool when I read something all by myself.

Since it was so cold on Tuesday and Tony was off he drove us to swimming lessons. And stayed to watch. I'm doing great! I get a private lesson (lucky me!) so have to work hard but I'm getting better and better every week. And this week I got a treat for the snack machine because I showed my instructor how I can do my bobs...I just don't like too. I don't like to close my eyes when I put my head under so then the chlorine burns my eyes and I don't want to do it anymore. Silly me! Next week we're going to bring my goggles and see if this instructor lets me wear them.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Cosmic! So much fun!! Tony drove us over on his lunch and came to pick us up after work since it was so cold to wait for the bus. We played for such a long time in the tunnels that mommy and me were both exhausted. That's hard work! I played a bunch of games and won a bunch of cool stuff too. Yahoo!

Back to School

Holidays are over and today it's back to school.

We had a busy evening yesterday. When I got to mommy's I wanted to open all the stuff we brought home from the Soo but first mommy said we had to take down the Christmas tree, all the decorations and clean a bit before we got out all the new stuff. Tony came over and helped out until I got bored and then I was showing him the PBS website. It's so neat! Then we went to his house for dinner. I was playing a moterbike game on PS2 and I am getting so good. I know how to do tricks now and everything. Liz came to play too. I ate a bunch of Portuguese bun for dinner and then we had fortune cookies for dessert. My fortune was so me..."Your mind is creative, original and alert". That could not describe me better! Neat!!

I didn't sleep very well last night. I woke up at 3am and thought it was morning, then crawled into bed with mommy and tossed and turned and coughed the rest of the night. But we woke up to a surprise this morning...snow!! By the time we went to the bus stop it was raining and the snow is really wet but it's still here...for now!
